Rue and Kayle are siblings, separated from their parents as small (Wurmples), but hardly simply surviving. They have everything under control, at least Rue does. They live in a forest somewhere, and she and her brother built a tree house that is concealed from sight so no one would bother them up there. being creatures that are mostly concealed themselves, they are good at hiding. Rue protects her brother, and though she loves to play tricks on those who pass by them in their forest, she won't do anything to scare her brother, who is pretty easily scared. Kayle spends most of his time collecting things of interest to him such as flowers and feathers and brightly colored things that people may leave behind while heading through the forest, which is how he found the lovely hair clips for his sister.
